The Master Cleanse diet is considered by many to be the most popular detoxification program over the last 60 years.

The Master Cleanse, also known as a lemonade diet, relies heavily on a fasting program coupled with particular detox teas made using lemons as one of the main ingredients.

To have success with this detox program you need to prepare 3 to 7 days before using the master cleanse recipe by beginning a raw food diet and increasing your intake of leafy greens and other rich-in vitamin and mineral foods. Then once the liquid part of the fast is over gradually begin a total raw foods diet instead of gorging on junk foods as soon as possible.

The master cleanse diet is not for everyone and some people should never use this type of extreme fasting to clean their systems. Those who are pregnant or who have an issue with alcohol and drugs are two types who should not undertake a diet of this nature.
